Make magic nuts: Instructions
1. Crack and paint the walnuts
Before you start, make sure you have clean walnuts - whether freshly bought or from your own garden. If the latter, clean them thoroughly to remove any remaining husks. Place the nuts with the seam upright in the nutcracker and press gently until the seam opens a little. Then use scissors or a similar tool to open the shell slowly and evenly. Even if the shells do not break perfectly, this is not a problem as long as both halves fit together.
You can either enjoy the contents of the nuts or offer them to the birds outside as winter food. Then clean the inside of the shells. Now paint the outer halves of the shells with the shiny metal paints. You can get creative here and combine one or more colors to achieve a special effect.
2. Hide messages and vouchers
