Rose petal candle in self-poured bowl

You can easily make this decorative bowl with a candle in a rose petal design yourself. Start by casting a pretty bowl and, in the second step, the candle, which is not only aesthetically pleasing but also lights up the room with soft candlelight. Read on to find out how to make your own enchanting candle bowl in just a few steps.

1. Pour into the bowl
Start by mixing approx. 8 tablespoons of Raysin mixture in a mixing cup according to the instructions on the packet. After filling, tap the mold a few times to remove any air bubbles. Leave the shell to dry completely. The mixture needs Time to dry: about 5 hours. After this time, you can carefully remove the bowl from the mold and allow it to dry completely.

Once completely dry, carefully seal the inside of the bowl with wax sealant to prevent liquids from penetrating and to ensure the longevity of the bowl.

2. Melt and prepare the wax
Now melt the wax for candles. You will need about 270 g of wax pastilles for one of the cast bowls. Pour these into your melting ladle or melting pot and heat them at a low temperature of between 60-70 °C. This temperature should never be exceeded. You can color the wax and give it a special fragrance by adding Candle Drops, a concentrate of organic wax and fragrance.

3. Preparing the wicks
In our decoration example, we have used 3 wooden wicks with wick holders. Place the wicks in your self-cast bowl so that you can cut them to the perfect length. Dip the upper ends and also the lower ends with the metal base of the wooden wicks briefly into the melted wax. This will make it easier to light them later. Then position the wicks in the bowl.

4. Fill the bowl & make rose petals from wax
Now carefully fill the bowl with the liquid wax so that the wicks remain firmly in the bowl. Melt some more wax and pour it into a silicone mould for rose petals. After about 10 minutes, you can carefully remove the wax elements. Once they have completely hardened, place them on your candle bowl as desired.
