Step 1: Print out and transfer the template

First, print out the desired template for your design. This can be our free template or something you have created yourself. Now place a piece of graphite paper on the candle holder, place the template over it and trace the contours of the design with a pencil. The graphite paper transfers the lines onto the wood so that you have a clear orientation.

Step 2: Prepare the wooden burning

Once you have transferred the design to the wood, switch on the branding pencil and allow it to heat up. These special pens heat up to high temperatures and are your tool for permanently burning the design into the wood. Slowly begin to trace the lines of the template. Be patient and work carefully to achieve precise and even lines.

Step 3: Stenciling with structure paste

Now the candle holder can be made even more artistic. Lightly spray the back of the stencil with spray glue and carefully place it on the candle holder. Use a spatula to gently apply the structure paste over the stencil. This colour paste will give your project an interesting raised look and texture. Once you are satisfied, carefully lift the stencil. Clean the stencil directly under clear water to ensure that no residue will affect the next application.

Step 4: Leave to dry and continue designing

Allow the applied structure paste to dry well. Depending on the ambient temperature, this may take a few hours. Be patient, as only completely dried structure paste guarantees a clean result. If you want to add more stars or patterns, repeat the stencilling process.

Step 5: Complete your project

Once everything is completely dry, your artwork is ready for display. Now place candles on your newly designed stands and enjoy the soft glow of the flames, which will show off your handmade design even more.
