Shape the clay into balls of different sizes. Model the beak and, for some, a comb from the balls. Then shape the balls into a slightly oval shape and smooth the surface with a modeling tool and a little moisture. Poke feathers into the back of each bird as decoration and then leave all the modeled shapes to dry for approx. 24 hours.
After drying, seal the surface by coating each bird with clay sealant . Glue on the bird's eyes and paint the comb in honey yellow and the lower half of the body with the colors mentioned above. Carve the hair into the chicks and paint them with honey yellow paint too.
