The history of the Décopatch brand began in France in 1993. similar to the popular napkin technique, the aim was to give objects a new shine with little effort and material. The disadvantage of napkin is that the wafer-thin paper layer is very sensitive and tears quickly when glued. It quickly became clear that a Paper, was needed that was also very thin, yet robust and resistant. The idea of the Décopatch-Paper was born.
The Décopatch brand quickly became successful in France and became increasingly well-known in the years that followed. As a result, the range was constantly developed and today, in addition to the huge Selection range of Décopatch papers, it also includes Décopatch papier-mâché figures, paperpatch glue, Aquapro clear coats and much more.
In the VBS Online store you will find a large Selection of different Décopatch products at a glance. So nothing stands in the way of your own Décopatch project.
DécopatchPaper
The very thin yet robust Décopatch-Paper weighs only 20 g/sqm and has a format of 30 x 40 cm. The Paper impresses its users with the fact that the Paper does not tear when glued, does not soak through and remains colorfast. This is the hallmark of the high quality of Décoptach papers. The papers are available in countless colors and patterns. You can also obtain Décopatch Pockets or Décopatch paper blocks with different papers, which are available at matched in colour . This means that you can find the right Paper for every conceivable project.
Décopatch figures
For the Décopatch technique, you need not only the papers but also a surface that you can glue on. The Décopatch brand offers sturdy papier-mâché shapes that can be designed to your heart's content. You will find a Selection range of different animals in many sizes, as well as practical boxes in various shapes. In addition to the papier-mâché shapes, the papers can also be applied to other surfaces such as wood, cardboard, terracotta, glass and plastic.
paperpatch glue
Another important part of the Décopatch technique is the right adhesive. The paperpatch glue is specially designed for crafting with Décopatch-Paper. It is water-based and solvent-free. The paperpatch glue is used to adhere the Paper to the surface and at the same time forms a protective repellent layer. This thin layer can then be wiped off with water as soon as the paint is completely dry. The paperpatch glue is available from us in four different bond sizes. This allows you to choose the right adhesive depending on the size of the object.
In addition to paperpatch glue , there is also an additional Aquapro-clear varnish. This has also been specially produced for the Décopatch technique, is water-based and is available in high-gloss, semi-gloss and matt. The Aquapro-clear varnish can then be applied to the entire object. This creates a protective layer and gives you an even surface.
The décoptach technique is child's play and can be applied by anyone with a little skill.
